Stevenage face Salford City at the Peninsula Stadium this weekend as they go head to head in League Two.
Tom Pearce, Boro Picks Predictor (@tompearce97)
This will be the fourth meeting between the two sides, the first coming last season in which Salford came out 2-0 winners.
The Boro have never beaten The Ammies, losing each time, including the 1-0 loss in the reverse fixture in October.
There was two goals in the first half-hour in the game against Bradford, however, no team could find a winner with the game finishing 1-1.
The Boro are in good form, though, as they are currently unbeaten in their last 12 games. That puts them fifth in the form table.
Whilst they beat Oldham in their last away game, their previous four games on the road ended as 0-0 draws.
Salford City Form
An Ian Henderson double saw Salford take all three points as they beat Forest Green 2-0 away on Monday.
Despite that win, they’re not in the best of form. That was their first victory in seven attempts, which means they find themselves in 19th in the form table.
Their home record is pretty amazing this season, having not lost a single league game at the Peninsula Stadium this campaign.
Our Picks For Boro Picks – Salford City V Stevenage
1. Will Stevenage beat Salford City? No
With the form of both sides, it’s hard to look past a draw for this game.
Considering Stevenage haven’t lost in 12 and Salford are unbeaten at home this season, it wouldn’t be a shock to see the sides share the points.
2. Will Luke Norris score? No
The forward has eight goals to his name so far this campaign, with all of them coming in the league.
He comes into this game in good form as well, with three goals in his last four games.
This will be the third time Norris will have come up against Salford, failing to score in the previous two against them.
3. Will Stevenage score in the first half? No
Whilst The Boro scored in the first half in the 1-1 draw on Monday, it would be a surprise to see them score in the opening 45 tomorrow.
They have found the net just five times from 20, which is an average of 0.25 goals scored per first period on the road.
As well as that, Salford have kept a clean sheet in the first 45 minutes in 74% of their home games this season.
4. Will Chris Lines assist a goal? No
Lines has set up a teammate for a goal on three occasions in the league this campaign.
His last assist came in the draw to Bradford, however, that was his first for over a month.
This will also be the midfielder’s third time coming up against Salford, failing to register an assist in the other two games against them.
4. How many shots on target will Stevenage have? 3
The Boro tested Richard O’Donnell on three occasions on Monday, and they could well do the same tomorrow.
They have hit the target 145 times so far this season, averaging 3.62 shots on goal per game.
Vaclav Hladky has played every minute in-between the sticks for Salford this campaign.
In those 38 games, he has faced 135 attempts on his goal, which is an average of 3.55 shots on target against per game.
6. How many tackles will Scott Cuthbert make? 0
The defender made one tackle in his last appearance, completing his 21st of the season.
He is currently averaging 0.75 tackles per game.
